Is The BBB Unbiased?

I find it interesting that although a BBB acredited business (businesses who pays for their good rating) has had complaints against them, the BBB appears to fail at keeping a record of such complaints and whether or not they were resolved.

I personally had a complaint filed against one of the BBB acredited businesses (or paid members), and the record for my complaint never showed up.

However it appears that any business that does not pay for "favoritism?" with the BBB is required to have all complaints (answered, resolved, or not) listed on their information page for a minimum of three years.

So, I find it very fishy don't you? It seems to me that you can pay the Better Business Bureau to keep quiet. Hmmmm?
